Category: Madonna live.

As our community members well know, there is a lot of excitement on the Madonna Fanzine, since the most famous insider among the fans is back with some more exclusive newsbits.

A few days ago she talked about Madonna being working on her new album, and among the collaborators there is David Guetta. "Madonna back in the studio to start recording the new album in a few more months and David Guetta definitely a potential collaborator. He's already working on some tryouts to shift Madonna", the insider says.

More news are about Madonna being planning new performances on early 2010. The notorius Madonna Fanzine insider now adds that, even if it's not 100 % confirmed yet, Madonna is set to open the Grammy ceremony in February.

[Rumours] A New Album In The Works?
Category: Madonna upcoming projects.
The Examiner: Madonna finally seems like Madonna again. She has lost the British accent, the talentless British husband, lives in New York City, and is actually smiling again. She looks like she has gained some badly needed weight as well. Madonna is about to start recording her new album. David Guetta (Black Eyed Peas) has bragged about working on some of the tracks. The only other confirmed producer is Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen). We are far more excited about Brendan O'Brien than David Guetta. It's a perfect time for Madonna to start working on a new album. Recent albums from fellow divas Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey have failed to live up to any hype

Raising Malawi: Madonna open letter and video to her fans!
Category: Charity.

My life has been changed. I must share my story with you.

It all began seven years ago when I learned of a small country in Africa called Malawi. Over one million children in this country have been orphaned by AIDS and extreme poverty. Children have been left raising children. Learn more by watching the video message I created for you and discover my interest and concern for Malawi:

Watch a video message from me about Malawi

The moment I realized the impact I could have on these children, my life was transformed. With the smallest actions, I have witnessed enormous change -- and I'd like to give you the opportunity to help others in need and experience the same kind of fulfillment.

Sign up and join our movement to raise Malawi. I'll send ten (10) people who sign up this week an autographed copy of my documentary film, I Am Because We Are -- a movie that will change your life.

http://www.raisingmalawi.org/MadonnaDVD

Michael Berg and I founded Raising Malawi to bring an end to the extreme poverty and hardship endured by Malawi's orphans and vulnerable children. We have partnered with organizations working with the local communities in Malawi. Rather than simply providing aid, we're empowering Malawians with the tools they need to shape their own destiny.

Despite the unimaginable conditions, there is a hope and a determination in the people of Malawi that is nothing short of contagious. It's the spirit of Malawians that keeps me coming back.

I invite you to share in the joy of Raising Malawi. Stories and updates from this small African nation will inspire you and offer a personal connection to the people I call my heroes and friends.

Please sign up now, and you could receive a signed copy of our DVD:

Together, we will raise Malawi.

Love,

Madonna

Daily Mail on Madonna ''Duchess'' movie
Category: Gossip.
The singer Madonna is receiving a helping hand from ex-husband Guy Ritchie in casting an odd-sounding film about Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson. Ritchie looked over the screenplay for the movie - called W.E. - and suggested his former wife seek meetings with several well-respected actors such as Mark Strong and Toby Kebbell, who both had major roles in Ritchie's last film, RocknRolla. Madonna has written the movie with Alek Keshishian, who directed the egomaniacal performer in the documentary Madonna: Truth Or Dare in 1991 when she was, it must be said, pretty mega. Madonna will also direct the movie. A couple of agents who represent distinguished thespians sought reassurances that Madonna was not going to act in the picture as well. 'She would have said if she was to be in it. It's a game-changer. Some find it difficult to act opposite her. Ask Rupert Everett,' a denizen of Soho told me yesterday. W.E. is described as a romantic comedy about a woman called Wally Winthrop. The synopsis of W.E. states that Wally was 'named for her grandmother's passion' and there are fantasy and flashback scenes involving Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson who, after the Abdication, were styled the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. There's a lot of dialogue between the Duke and Duchess, but my guess is that the screenplay will be re-written before shooting commences next year. I'm presuming W.E. stands for Wallis and Edward. Other segments of the film have Wally Winthrop marrying a paediatrician. She then attends an event featuring items that belonged to the Duchess of Windsor where she finds herself falling for a security guard. Madonna has several meetings planned this week and next with various actors and actresses. She needs to cast a star name to help boost the budget. In this climate, Madonna's name alone won't guarantee a picture will be financed. A suggestion that David Tennant would be in W.E. was met with the acronym C.R.A.P. (for complete rubbish and p***)

Madonna to lay school's foundation stone in Malawi
Category: Madonna upcoming projects.
LILONGWE, October 22 (Reuters Life!) - U.S. pop star Madonna will visit Malawi on Sunday to lay the foundation stone of a multi-million dollar girls' school she is building, her charity Raising Malawi told Reuters. The singer, who has adopted two children from the southern African country, is due to arrive on Sunday and attend a brick-laying ceremony in Lilongwe on Monday. The school is expected to cost about $15 million. "She plans to meet the President Bingu wa Mutharika and together lay a foundation stone for her multi-million dollar girls school," a staffer at the charity, who declined to be named, said on Thursday. An AIDS epidemic has left over a million children orphaned in the impoverished country of 13 million. Malawi's government came under fire after Madonna adopted a 13-month-old boy, David Banda, in 2006, with critics accusing it of giving her special treatment by skirting laws that ban non-residents from adopting children. In June this year, Malawi's Supreme Court overturned a lower court ruling made in April which said Madonna could not adopt a four-year girl -- Mercy James -- because the singer was not a resident of the country. Madonna last year divorced British film director Guy Ritchie, with whom she has a son Rocco. She also has a daughter Lourdes from her relationship with fitness trainer Carlos Leon.

Madonna gave Glee the rights to her catalog: an all-Madonna-music episode is in the works.
Category: TV.
From Entertainment Weekle / Glee:

Are you sitting down, Gleeks? Well you might want to, because we have some exclusive Glee news that’s positively Madge-ical.

EW has learned that Madonna has given Glee the rights to her catalog and that an all-Madonna-music episode is in the works for early next year.

The hit series has been building an audience and filling the iTunes charts with its cover songs, and Madonna’s involvement is a testament to how big the show is getting.

Also, an amazing Glee cover of a classic Madonna track has the potential to be even bigger than the show’s blockbuster take on “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Quinn totally has to do “Papa Don’t Preach.” And I can completely see Rachel tackling “Material Girl.”

Here are a few select quotes:

What were the first shows you saw?
My first concert was David Bowie at Cobo Hall [in Detroit] when I was 15. He had mime artists with him. It was amazing. I wish I could have seen him as Ziggy Stardust. My second show was Elton John, and my third was Bob Mar- ley. Not bad, right?

Not bad at all. Did you drink at the shows?
When I was in high school? No way. I was a geek. I didn’t really have a drink until I got divorced the first time [from Sean Penn], when I was 30.

Did you do graffiti?
Walls, subways, sidewalks . . .

What was your tag?
Boy Toy.

No shit! Who came up with Boy Toy?
It could have been Futura. He’s clever. He painted the whole inside of my bed- room on 99th, which my landlord was not happy about. We had a little gang – [the actress] Debbie Mazur was part of it. We called ourselves the Webo Girls – like hue- vos, girls with balls.

When you were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, there was a video montage of your career. When you took the stage you made a joke about “all my bad hairstyles.” Which Madonna fashion era do you look back on with the most disdain?
I think it was the purple lipstick, fluorescent-green sweater combo. So many of those hairstyles. It’s OK, it was the Eighties. It was a bad-hairstyle era, let’s face it.

On the flip side, is there a time you look back on when you say, “Fuck, I was pretty hot.”
Like I’m going to admit to that! And be annihilated for the next 10 years for it? I’m not answering that one.

Did you have the sense that [“Like a Virgin” and “Material Girl”] would become such huge hits?
No. They just resonated with me. I’ve never been a good judge of what things are going to be huge or not. The songs that I think are the most retarded songs I’ve written, like “Cherish” and “Sorry,” a pretty big hit off my last album, end up being the biggest hits. “Into the Groove” is another song I feel retarded singing, but everybody seems to like it.

Has anyone ever turned down an offer to work with you?
Sure. Or it’s, “I don’t have time.” I wanted to work with Eminem. I don’t think he wanted to work with me. [Smiles] Maybe he’s shy.

You and Lourdes, who is now 12, went to a Lady Gaga show together in New York. Do the two of you go to a lot of shows?
We’ve just started. We like the same music. I think Lady Gaga is great. When we saw her, I actually felt a kind of recognition. I thought, “She’s got something.” There’s something quirky about her. She’s fearless and funny, and when she spoke to the audience, she sounded intelligent and clever. She’s unique.

Can you sense an artist’s ambition?
Yes. There’s people like Justin Timberlake, who’s really good-looking and laid back. He’s sort of a Cary Grant. I love him, I love working with him, but I don’t recog- nize myself in him. But I can see myself in Lady Gaga. In the early part of my career, for sure. When I saw her, she didn’t have a lot of money for her production, she’s got holes in her fishnets, and there’s mistakes everywhere. It was kind of a mess, but I can see that she’s got that It factor. It’s nice to see that at a raw stage.

Last year, you and Guy Ritchie got divorced . . .
You don’t have to lower your voice when you say that. It’s not a bad word. I thought we were talking about music, though. If you can connect the idea of divorce to music, I’ll talk to you about it.

Then let’s talk about the lyrics to “Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You” from “Hard Candy”: “I should just walk away/Over and over, I keep on coming back for more.”
What can you say? It was a challenging year. I think work saved me, and I’m very grateful that I had work to do. I may have thrown myself off a building. Life is an adjustment. It’s different. My sons aren’t with me right now, they’re with their father, and I’m not very comfortable with the idea of my children not living together. There are pros and cons, but I feel good now.

Special thanks to the Rolling Stone magazine.
