Madonna & Bernhard Lesbian Affair was MADE UP!
Category: Interviews & Statements.
Actress-comedienne SANDRA BERNHARD has finally come clean about her alleged love affair with MADONNA - it was all made up.
The pair became friends in the late 1980s and their increasing closeness sparked rumours of something more. But despite being purely platonic, the 52-year-old Roseanne star - who ’came out’ as a lesbian several years ago - enjoyed every minute of the speculation. She says, "I don’t mind being asked about Madonna. It was awesome at the time. We had a really funny friendship and kind of played with the press and the media. "It was before the internet and there was still a little bit of allure and excitement and fun to it."
Confessions World Records
Category: Press Release.
An official press release today from Guinness World Records mentions some recent Madonna world records recognized by Guinness which are cited in their new 2008 edition:
Released on 28th September 2007, the new book reveals that the girl fight is not limited to girl bands, as Madonna steals Cher's crown for Highest Grossing Music Tour per Concert. The winning 'Confessions' tour was seen by 1.2 million fans grossing an estimate of GBP100 million, an average of 1.6 million per concert!
The Queen of Pop doesn't stop there, knocking Kate Bush off her spot for Most no.1 Albums by a Female Artist with her ninth, and highly successful album 'Confessions on a Dance Floor'.
Bloc Party "Headlock" Story Was A Joke
Category: Interviews & Statements.
A story a few weeks ago in which Bloc Party's Kele Okereke said that Madonna was put into a "headlock" by security in Bloc Party's Live Earth dressing room was just a joke story, according to bandmember Matt Tong. Here's an excerpt from a Matt Tong interview in Jam! Showbiz:
On stage the songs become something else altogether. And Bloc Party's live shows have become legendary.
Take, for instance, their recent Live Earth performance, notable not only for a fiery set but also for a widely reported incident that supposedly saw security personnel forbid Madonna from greeting the band backstage.
"Yeah, well, we might have bent the truth a little bit about that," Tong now admits. "Actually, I think that whole story was completely made up, really. We were shocked when we saw how much that got all over the Internet. We were like, 'Uh oh, she's going to sue us now.'
"Really, our experience with that kind of level of stardom have been really limited. We do rub shoulders with those people from time to time but it seems so weird to us. It seems so alien that we always make up these ridiculous stories, not expecting anyone to believe us for one minute. But then, people don't really know what happens, I suppose."

Madonna awaits adoption decision
Category: (Private) Life.
09.47 Mon Sep 24 2007
Malawian officials say it is still too early to say if superstar Madonna will be given full custody of toddler David Banda.
The little boy has been living with the singer and husband Guy Ritchie for nearly a year.
Meanwhile, there is growing speculation that the star is planning to adopt another orphan from the country - a 13-month-old girl called Mercy, whose mum died five days after giving birth.
A Malawian government official from the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare visited the singer at her home in central London.
Maxwell Matewere, executive director for the leading Malawi child advocacy group The Eye of the Child, said: "What we think could happen is that the guardian Ad Litem, who is the Ministry of Women and Child Development...would present the report to the court so that the court could use that report to determine whether Madonna could be granted the final order."
Mr Matewere stressed the final decision could only be given by the courts and the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare could not dictate or work independently from the court.

[Rumours] Rumored title for next concert tour: 'Madonna At 50'?
Category: Gossip.
This article comes from Cindy Adams gossip column at the NY Post. We'd like to note and correct Ms. Adams that The Confessions Tour last year had 60 shows, not 50 shows.
MADGE GEARING UP FOR 50 & NEW TOUR
September 24, 2007 -- THERE'S something about the number 50 that does it for Mrs. Guy Ritchie. Her tour last year was 50 dates. As we speak, let it be known that Her Very Own Self is gearing for yet another concert tour. The schlep now in the planning stage is to be called "Madonna at 50."
Material Girl's £50m to ditch record company
Category: Gossip.
23/09/2007
Madonna is planning to dump her record company because she makes more money performing live.
The singer is close to signing a £50million contract with her tour promoters Live Nation - to cover her concert AND her record releases.
She is expected to walk away from Warner Music, who have released all her singles and albums throughout her 25-year career.
The new arrangement will send another shockwave through the major record labels who keep losing big names to other businesses.
A senior music industry figure explained: "This is a sign of the times. At this stage in her career Madonna realises she stands to make more money from touring - £130million on her last tour - than releasing records. So she wants to go with a company that can look after both rather than being tied to a record company."
The source added: "With the internet, you don't need to be a record company to release records any more. The era of the big record labels controlling artists' careers is coming to an end."
Madonna, 49, follows Paul McCartney and Prince who have both walked away from their record labels. Macca quit his long-term label EMI last year to sign with Starbucks, who are selling his new album Memory Almost Full in their coffee shops.
And Prince decided to give away copies of his current album free with every ticket he sold for his recent 21 dates at London's O2 Dome.
MONEY-MADGE
Madonna is worth an estimated £160million. She has sold 175million albums and 75million singles worldwide. Her first [U.K.] No1 was Into The Groove in 1985, her last was Sorry in 2006. Her last tour, Confessions, was in 2006.

[Rumours] FAKE STORY: Madonna Leaks ''The Beat Goes On'' To Test Fans.
Category: Magazines.
Drowned Madonna can assure you that this story is completely false. The leaks are completely unintentional!

From French magazine "Choc":
SEEN ON PEREZ HILTON During a few days, we could hear Madonna's latest song, "The beat goes on", on the internet. By mistake, they said. But it seems that it was the singer and Warner's idea to test the impact of the song on fans.

[EXCLUSIVE] Drowned Madonna interview with Jeffrey Fulvimari.
Category: Interviews & Statements.
A new series of chapter books of Madonna's "The English Roses" has been launched a few days ago. The illustrator of the first Madonna's children book, Jeffrey Fulvimari, has been asked to work on 12 books. The first four of twelve books are "Friends for Life!," "Good-Bye, Grace?," "The New Girl" and "A Rose by Any Other Name" (Puffin/Callaway; Hardcover Fiction; $9.99; 128 pages).
We had the honour of talking with Jeffrey Fulvimari about these new 12 books by Madonna, his upcoming projects and Madonna herself.
Click on the banner below to read the interview we held with the one and only Jeffrey Fulvimari.
Here is an excerpt:
Drowned Madonna: Just one more question... Are you a fan of Madonna?
Jeffrey Fulvimari: I was a huge M fan even before this job, and so I have of couse seen your site, and have enjoyed it immensely. There is only one thing to do with someone as special as Madonna....celebrate her. She told us so in one of her very first songs !!!!!!! But, mostly, she gives us something more to adore every year, and aside from making huge hits, her work in Malawi is something for everyone to emulate. Working with her is a dream come true !!! I have an ex friend who said she was cruel, but really the ex-friend is actually way more cruel than his claims. She has NEVER EVER treated me in any other way but professionally, and with respect. I mean, gosh when the Queen of Pop loves what you do, there’s no better feeling !!! I really concentrate on the fact that these books are bringing a better life to those most in need in the world, and until more celebrities (and celebrity photographers) step up and do the charitable works she is doing, they cannot speak an ill word about her. People need to stop copying her videos and performances, and copy what really means the most to her...RAISING MALAWI !!!! THAT’S what it’s all about !!!!!!
