[Read It First Here] Madonna ticket madness in London.
Category: Madonna live.
Pop veteran Madonna has been forced to announce her British tour dates gradually in the fear high demand for tickets will cause computers to crash.

The singer, who announced her 2004 Re-invention tour dates earlier this week, left 250,000 hopeful fans without tickets when her first London gig sold out within minutes.

A second date on Aug. 19 was added soon after, but seats for the show were again filled just as quickly.

An insider says, "Madonna will play five gigs in London altogether - two at Earls Court and three at Wembley.

"But after discussions with several ticket outlets, it became clear they'd have to be released at intervals to prevent mayhem and computer's blowing up."

"So we've had to pretend that extra concerts are being added due to public demand."

Madonna's world tour kicks off in Los Angeles at the Forum on May 24.
