For the first time, Billboard’s annual Money Makers ranking, which is the most comprehensive report card of its kind, is based on the artist's share of revenue as opposed to total dollars generated by each artist in the ranking. Something to note: Warner has not (yet) added any promotional advertising on iTunes or Amazon for the single. You have to search for it. Basically if you're not a super fan, you wouldn't even know it was available to download. Also of note, Mariah Carey's new album has been pushed back again, and is now scheduled to be released on the same day as Madonna, 29 Sept 2009.

On Hot Dance Airplay, "Celebration"—the first single/title track from Madonna's upcoming greatest-hits album (due Sept. 29)—starts the party at No. 7, the chart's highest debut since Dec. 13, 2008, when Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" also debuted at No. 7. Since the Dance Airplay chart launched Aug. 16, 2003, only two other singles have bowed higher: Ciara's "1, 2 Step" (No. 5 on Jan. 20, 2005) and Madonna's "4 Minutes" (No. 5 on April 5, 2008) . . . "Celebration" also enters the Hot Dance Club Songs chart at No. 29—the diva's 56th Club hit. The entry extends her lead as the artist with the most hits on this chart
