Sőt, esetükben még közös múltról is beszélhetünk, hiszen Madonna 2004-es Re-Invention trunéjának dublini állomásán az előzenekar Iggy és csapata volt.

When Madonna Snubbed The Award.

About the Brits Awards 2002 Edition:
Allegedly, the Lifetime Achievement award was offered to Madonna, but she passed because she thought the award implied she had passed her sell-by date. The organisers then turned to Sting, who begrudgingly accepted on condition that the title was changed to Outstanding Contribution to Music award. It is unclear who gained from this one, though, as, after the event, the tabloids claimed Sting took pot-shots at everything from the venue through to Frank Skinner’s capabilities as a host to the value of the award itself. All in all, a pretty good evening, then.

DANCE-CHART MILESTONE!
Category: Awards.
More from Billboard:
" Then there's that Club Play recap, where the top six all come from the distaff side. Madonna is No. 1 after relinquishing the title last year to Justin Timberlake. She's followed by Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Annie Lennox, Britney Spears and McLachlan.
Madonna and Spears are the top two artists on the Hot Dance Singles Sales recap. Together, they have the No. 1 song of the year, "Me Against the Music," followed by Madonna's "Nothing Fails"/"Nobody Knows Me" at No. 2 and "Love Profusion" at No. 3.
DANCE-CHART MILESTONE
That makes Madonna the first person in chart history to have the top three songs of the year on the dance sales recap. The only acts that have come close are Soul II Soul, which topped the 1989 list with "Keep On Movin"' and "Back to Life," and M People, which was No. 2 and No. 3 in 1994 with "Moving On Up" and "One Night in Heaven."- Fred Bronson

Bono or Madonna?
Category: Awards.
LONDON (Reuters) - Bono, lead singer of Irish rock band U2, was handed an award inducting him into the UK Music Hall of Fame. Minutes later the reluctant recipient joked that he was tempted to hand it back.
"I really didn't want to come," he told Reuters Television.
"Only respect for the people who were running the show has me here. I hate the idea of being in the UK Hall of Fame to be honest with you ... We don't want to be in any Hall of Fame until we're retired or dead."
"It's not another award," Madonna told Reuters. "I think I'm in very good company. I'm honored to be part of that group."

Madonna was inducted into the first UK Music Hall Of Fame - and received a hilarious message from close pals Stella McCartney and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Hollywood actress Gwyneth and designer Stella put together a video tribute to the Material Girl by wearing some of her outlandish outfits.
Madge gasped as they appeared on a big screen at London's Hackney Empire - Stella dressing in a 'Material Girl' dress and Gwyneth donning a conical bra and basque.
Robbie Williams, Michael Jackson and the Rolling Stones were also among those inducted into the hall of fame at a star-studded ceremony.
The public has chosen one act to represent each decade since the Fifties as part of a new Channel 4 show.

Robbie represents the 1990s, Jacko the '80s, Queen the '70s, the Rolling Stones the '60s and Sir Cliff Richard the '50s.
As well as Madonna, other honorary members included Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, U2 and the Beatles.
Madonna, 46, received her honorary award from artists Tracey Emin and Radio One DJ Jo Whiley.
Wearing a Remembrance Day poppy, Madge gushed: "If someone had told me while I was a little girl growing up in mid-west America that one day I'd be married to a Brit, living in England and inducted into the UK Hall Of Fame, I would have said: `b******s to that'."

MADONNA was visibly shocked last night when faced with a large screen tribute from her friends Stella McCartney and Gwyneth Paltrow. Dressed in some of the pop queen's more outlandish and memorable outfits - Stella in a Material Girl dress and Gwyneth in a conical bra and basque - the pair hammed it up to pay tribute to her as she was inducted into the first UK Music Hall of Fame in the Hackney Empire. The public has chosen one act to represent each decade since the Fifties as part of a Channel 4 series, which saw Robbie Williams represent the Nineties, Michael Jackson the Eighties, Queen the Seventies, the Rolling Stones the Sixties and Sir Cliff Richard the Fifties. Madonna, along with the likes of Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, U2 and the Beatles, was made an honorary member. "If someone had told me while I was a little girl growing up in mid-west America that one day I'd be married to a Brit, living in England and inducted into the UK Hall of Fame, I would have said: 'Bollocks to that'." POP queen Madonna was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame last night.
But her jaw dropped when pals Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney aped her in a video.
Gwyneth, 32, appeared on screen at London’s Hackney Empire in Madge’s conical bra and basque, while designer Stella wore her pink Material Girl frock.
Stella, 33, admitted: “She looks a lot better in these dresses than we do.”

The Indipendent confirms the rumours on Stella McCartney and Gwyneth Paltrow paying homage to Madonna dressed like one of her old re-inventions. The newspaper also gives more details on yesterday night ceremony. Here's an excerpt of their article about the show:
The artist Tracey Emin paid tribute to Madonna, who also received a videotaped homage from the fashion designer Stella McCartney, dressed as the singer in her Material Girl phase, and the actress Gwyneth Paltrow, in a Madonna-style coned bra.
Madonna: ''If somebody had said when I was a little girl...''
Category: Awards.
From today's edition of The Guardian:
As Bono put it, "This would be a great time to settle a few old scores." But it could get ugly; music fans were yesterday provided with enough fodder for lively debate when the winners of the first UK Music Hall of Fame awards were announced last night.
The awards ceremony, held at the Hackney Empire in east London, attracted a clutch of big names who do not normally muck in together. Madonna, U2 and the Rolling Stone Ron Wood were among the big names attending.
For Madonna, it seemed to be a matter of asserting the honorary Britishness she’s acquired since moving to England. "If somebody had said when I was a little girl in the mid West that I would be inducted into the UK music Hall of Fame I’d have said ’bollocks to that’. It’s great to be famous but that doesn’t mean you have something to say."
Meanwhile Robbie Williams, a contentious victor over Nirvana and REM in the 90s section, described the programme, which will be broadcast on Sunday on Channel 4, as the "surrealest thing I’ve ever done".
Williams was one of the five artists voted by 1.6 million Channel 4 viewers as the best of the last 50 years. The others are Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Queen, and Cliff Richard each representing the best of a decade.
The limo-loads of celebrities who crowded the former Victorian music hall were marking the inauguration of what organisers hope will rival America’s long-established Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame.
But there is very British twist: there is no actual "hall" such as the one in Cleveland, Ohio, where fans view pop artefacts in a museum setting.
At the moment, the award is simply a televised ceremony that will be aired on Sunday on Channel 4. Organisers Endemol said that there is a possibility of a museum being built if the award takes off.
As well as the winners of the vote, there are also five founding members including Madonna, U2 and the Beatles. Island Records founder Chris Blackwell, who introduced reggae to Britain, also received a trophy.

AND there we were thinking that Stella McCartney and Gwyneth Paltrow didn't have a funny bone in their bodies.
But the pair are set to honour pal Madonna at tonight's launch of the UK Hall Of Fame in Hackney, East London, by doing a parody of one her gigs and dressing up as her.
A source says: "Gwyneth and Stella wear outrageous Madonna costumes. It's a scream."
The show will feature a performance by Robbie Williams who will pick up a gong for Artist of the 90s.
