Madonna talks about her New Album, the Inspirations and Collaborations
Madonna confessed that Lisbon deeply influenced her upcoming album.
Madonna also revealed that many local musicians collaborated on her new album, which will be released before the end of 2018.
In Lisbon, I met many wonderful musicians, and many of them ended up collaborating on my new album.
“Lisbon influenced my music and my work,” Madonna told Vogue Italia. “How could it have been the other way around? It is impossible to spend a year here without being conditioned by all the culture that surrounded me.”
“I always say that Portugal is governed by three F: Fado, football and Fátima,” says Madonna. “It is also a very Catholic country, which is very good for me.”
“Lisbon reminds me of Cuba because people do not have much, but the door of any house is open, you can go to every alley and you will always hear music,” adds Madonna. “You always hear a lot of Fado and Kuduro, an Angolan musical genre. Also a lot of jazz; jazz of the old school, which is a beautiful thing.”
